With family ties to the Yuma area since the 1930’s, Dr. Brown returned to his home town in 1997 after earning his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Arizona and his Doctor of Optometry from the Southern California College of Optometry.

Since his return, he has become a fellow of the American Academy of optometry, provided ten years of Low Vision services to the visually impaired students associated with the Arizona State Schools for the Deaf and Blind and become Adjunct Faculty for the Illinois College of Optometry.

He is very active in the community as past president of the Sunrise Optimist Club of Yuma, past Board member of the Yuma Community Food Bank, past president of the Caballeros de Yuma, founder and first race director of the Yuma Territorial Marathon and Half Marathon and Silver Beaver recipient from the Boy Scouts of America for his service as an adult leader.

His spare time is spent supporting his family’s love of music, his wife’s love of the outdoors and his consistent participation in fitness and endurance races.
